We are seeking multiple Operating Technician positions for our First Quality Tissue facility located in Anderson, SC.  Positions are responsible for operating more than one type of machine in more than one department in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner. +$1.25 shift differential (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.)

Operator Technician

Responsibilities
– Owns personal and team safety
– Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times

– Responsible for supporting the team and other team members to achieve world class results

– Follows necessary Good Manufacturing Practices and other manufacturing regulations/guidelines

– Manages respective operations support function. Receives work direction from the Lead

– Operates select pieces of process and material handling equipment

– Ensures all raw material inventories are maintained and communicates any issues with the Lead

– Ensures quality and workmanship standards are met for the products being produced

– Ensures process and product quality checks are performed as required

– Maintains any required record keeping

– Ensures shift-to-shift communication is maintained

– Practices good housekeeping by keeping the machines and surrounding areas clean

– Develops and maintains operating procedures and ensures all SOP’s are followed

– Communicates any and all operating problems and status to the Lead

– Properly trains other Process Operators and other team members as required

– Relieves other team members for break periods as required

– Assists maintenance personnel as needed

– Performs other duties as necessary when directed

– Show up ready for work and on-time

– Becomes an expert at his/her position, but capable of performing all departmental Process Operator jobs

– Understands the business and the impact of his/her position


Experience Required 

– High school diploma or equivalent required

– Mechanical aptitude including ability to operate a forklift

– Mathematical skills to operate and understand laboratory testing

– Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team oriented environment

– Ability to communicate orally and in writing

– Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems

– Basic computer skills
– Work rotating 12.5-hour shifts, switching from nights to days consistently
– Some mandatory overtime required at short notice

Warehouse Technician

Responsibilities

– Responsible for quality/customer satisfaction in regards to product integrity during the loading, unloading, and warehousing process

– Operates radio frequency equipment to conduct inventory control movements, loading, and physical inventories

– Responsible for observing safety rules and performing in a safe and efficient manner at all times

– Responsible for inspecting equipment used on a shift basis and reports defects to management

– Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the warehouse facilities

– Stores and handles the product in accordance to warehouse policies and procedures

– Supports production lines with material requests

– Assists Inventory Specialist with conducting inventories when necessary

– Insures the integrity and accuracy of all inventories on a daily basis

– Maintains an efficient product flow throughout the warehouse operation

– Assists with repack operations when necessary

– Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so


Experience Required 

– High school diploma or equivalent education/experience required

– Ability to operate fork trucks in a safely and efficiently

– Fundamental knowledge of general warehouse procedures and product codes

– Fundamental computer knowledge and willingness to learn
– Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment on a rotating shift schedule

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities 

– Troubleshoots and maintains production and any associated equipment to ensure highest reliability, proper line performance, and safe operation

– Understands and applies the principles and techniques of “precision” maintenance

– Coordinates PM programs

– Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical/mechanical hazards and takes immediate corrective action

– Tests performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as electronic voltmeters

– Reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly

– Installs and repairs equipment using soldering, welding, and hand tools

– Aligns, fits, or assembles component parts using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes

– Inspects parts for surface defects

– Analyzes and records test results and prepare written testing documentation

– Verifies part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments

– Operates metalworking machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures

– Repairs, reworks, or calibrates hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances

– Trains others to repair, use, or maintain robots

– May assist engineers in testing and troubleshooting robotics equipment

– Uses CMMS Maintenance System to document work orders and procure parts


Experience Required

– High school diploma or GED required

– Minimum 3 years functional experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of Associates degree and experience in related field required

– Highly qualified candidates would possess a technical degree or apprenticeship certification and maintenance experience in the paper industry or similar manufacturing environment

Controls Technician

Responsibilities 

– Observing all OSHA and company safety rules and using the proper safety equipment at all times. Notifying Supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical hazards and taking immediate corrective action. Demonstrating basic National Electrical Code understanding

– Troubleshooting machine breakdowns and malfunctions utilizing working knowledge of programs and tools required to troubleshoot PLC’s, DCS’s, HMI’s and servo systems including electrical schematics, meters, oscilloscopes, etc.

– Training and assisting technicians to troubleshoot, repair, replace and calibrate all electrical sensing devices (photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, magnetic, pressure, temperature, weight and position sensors), all electrical control devices (AC drives, DC drives, Servo Controllers, contactors, motors, breakers, solenoids power supplies and indicator lights) and all DCS/PLC/HMI hardware (processors, discrete and analog I/O cards, power supplies, network adapters, distributed I/O, operator interfaces such as Panelview, PC based interfaces), and message displays such as Review

– Based on extensive experience of the machine processes and controls systems, making critical decisions to proactively avoid downtime, quality, scrap, and safety problems

– Making complex program modifications in PLC’s logic, HMI’s programs and servo controller logic to improve equipment performance. Working also with Controls Engineers to implement changes on DCS system. Both of these may also require significant changes to the control equipment and wiring on the machines


Experience Required 

– Excellent communication and analytical skills

– Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation, PLC (and DCS if required) based hardware and software

– Ability to make quick and accurate electrical repairs and program changes

– High school diploma or GED required

– Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop and operate power industrial trucks as well as work shifts

– Minimum of a 2 year technical degree (Associates Degree in Mechatronics, IET, EET), and/or has 5+ years’ experience in industrial controls maintenance environment
