First Quality is seeking to fill multiple DIRECT HIRE positions in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Benefits start day one! Competitive annual bonus payout and quarterly plant performance payouts!

Positions Available and Pay Rates
– Machine Operator – $18/hour plus $1.50 shift differential
– Maintenance Technician – $21.05-$26.30/hour plus $1.50 shift differential

Shifts Available
– Machine Operator – 12-hour shifts, 9 week rotating (6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. for 9 weeks, and then 6:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. for 9 weeks)
OR straight night shift
– Maintenance Technician – 12-hour shifts, 9 week rotating (6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. for 9 weeks, and then 6:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. for 9 weeks)
OR straight night shift

Machine Operators

Responsible for operating a machine in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner.

Responsibilities
– Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times
– Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations/guidelines
– Maintains quality standards for the products
– Ensures proper raw material verification, handling, and usages
– Keeps the machine and the surrounding area clean
– Performs the duties of a Lead Operator when necessary
– Assists maintenance personnel as required
– Follow instructions of the Lead Operator
– Assists with the training of other employees
– Assist other lines as needed
– Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so
– Completes changeovers and some mechanical tasks
– Completes process clean-up as required or needed
– Uses MES, QW, eQCM, and other computer programs
– Functional capability to understand Vision, product details, waste reasons and reactions, resulting in ability to manage operation of line

Experience Required
– High school diploma or GED
– Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to communicate well
– Ability to work in a team orientated environment
– 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
– 1-2 years of trade school or college preferred
– Prior computer experience preferred

Physical Requirements

– Walk/stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift
– Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting throughout shift
– Occasional climbing and reaching into machines to fix jams
– Occasional reaching overhead during shift
– Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift, including materials requiring up to 75 lbs. of force to maneuver
– Frequent lifting or carrying of boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
– Constant use of hands and occasional use of foot control
– Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift
– Operation of cranes, hoists, hand trucks and roll manipulators throughout shift
– Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area
– Occasional climbing of steps
– Balance required for some tasks

 

Maintenance Technicians

Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and adjusting all mechanical equipment, machinery and components.

Responsibilities
– Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times
– Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations
– Repairs all mechanical components of all equipment as required
– Troubleshoots and analyzes mechanical and operational issues on all equipment and takes required corrective action to resolve these issues
– Operates all machines so that maintenance, changeovers, and adjustments can be tested when complete
– Performs preventive maintenance and lubrication on all equipment
– Performs changeovers on all equipment
– Maintains a clean and orderly work area
– Performs preventive/predictive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment and reports findings promptly
– Shares knowledge and techniques with team members and assists with training
– Attends all training seminars provided by the company when applicable
– Completes paperwork correctly and submits in a timely fashion
– Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so

Experience Required
– Completion of all required maintenance training and assessments
– Standard mechanical knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and components
– Standard knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
– Standard knowledge of product specifications, quality specifications, goals, efficiency, scrap, and production
– Good communication and analytical skills
– Ability to use all measuring tools, micrometers, vernier calipers, etc.
– Ability to work in a team oriented environment
– Ability to run the equipment, hand tools, and power tools
– High school diploma or equivalent required
– 3 years of industrial experience or equivalent required
– Technical or vocational school training relating to mechanics is preferred
