Well lets see. I think (if I can follow the latest and greatest news) we stand at total relief thus far of $146 million in allocated savings from tax breaks because of SUTA that were passed by the house but awaiting approval in conference. Then the Governor would have to sign. This amounts to somewhere around a 22-25% reduction in just this years increase for companies in tiers 13-20. The bill also makes several changes to the existing law including introducing a change in the total number of weeks able to be filed (from 26 down to 20) and a “seasonal employer” classification.

All told, all the efforts have been helpful to begin blunting this cost. When this is over I will post here a list of Senators and House members that have been instrumental in pressing for tax reductions. The list is long.
