SUTA Phone Calls Produce Favorable Result
Over the past few days, many of our associates and clients have been making phone calls to various senators encouraging them to ask the LCI Chairman to allow S. 478, which deals with the South Carolina unemployment tax, to be heard by the full committee. The bill passed the subcommittee many weeks ago, but the Chairman, for whatever reason, would not allow it to come up for a vote before the full committee. I suspect he is concerned about not having enough votes to block whatever relief might be discussed and with the mounting pressure by our phone calls, has agreed to hold a vote.
S.478 is on the April 7th agenda for the full LCI committee. The meeting will be held in room 308 at the Gressette Building at 9:00am. We are going and hope to see you there!
