Production Operators

Pay Rate: Starting pay $18.50/hour (18 plus 0.50 shift differential)

Shifts Available: 3rd shift

Cleanroom Gowning and Prohibited Items:
– No make-up
– No foundation
– No fake eyelashes
– No fake nails or nail polish
– No jewelry
– No wool clothing
– No phone
– No bags or personal belongings
– No chewing candy or gum

Job Description:
Carry out automated and manual production activities, including:
– collecting the correct material from the airlock (ensure batch numbers are correct)
– starting up machines – making sure to set the correct parameters
– changing over the machine as required
– operating machines according to procedures

Complete appropriate documentation to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including:
– routing information, batch control records, scrap/quality issues, and scorecards

Perform in-process quality checks during assembly, including:
– taking samples according to the specified frequency
– delivering samples to the lab for quality control as required
– checking the critical parameters (length, width, weld quality, etc.) per procedure
– checking finished goods for defects and performing final testing

Pack the finished goods, including:
– packing to correct parameters/specifications
– ensuring use of the appropriate packing bags

Execute appropriate 5S activities (simply, straighten, scrub, standardize, and sustain) to ensure area meets world class manufacturing standards

Actively participate in continuous improvement events and projects (called Danaher Business System (DBS))
– learn lean manufacturing basics (5S, Daily Management, Standard Work, etc.)
– volunteer for and participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) events
– identify areas for improvement in the process
– perform structured safety audits as trained (Kamishibai)

Perform general administrative tasks to support the production
– notify supervisor of equipment malfunction or downtime
– prepare receipts and batch documentation
– print labels/Kanban cards
– manage kanban cards (including scanning empty, counts, restocking, etc.)
– enter dimensions/data in computer systems (including SAP, Excel, Lotus Notes, etc.)

Additional requirements
– bend, lift, twist, sit and stand for long periods of time
– good eye and hand dexterity
– required lifting weight: Up to 35 lbs. daily (multiple times per day)
– ability to work in a cleanroom environment (100% of the time)
– work safety – according to all safety procedures
– must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the manufacturing environment
– keen eye for quality – produces parts according to our quality standards, procedures and specifications
– mechanical aptitude – comfortable operating production/manufacturing equipment Keep detailed and accurate records – complete all necessary paperwork and documentation
– team player that is willing to do what is required to get the jobs done and satisfy customers
– comfortable with change and continuous improvement
– perform basic preventative maintenance as required
– self-motivated to meet and achieve targets
– positive, professional attitude and willing to learn
– ability to interact with co-workers across multiple functions
– participate in continuous improvement/Kaizen activities as required

Basic Qualifications:
– must have a high school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
– knowledge and usage of basic math (“shop math”)
– ability to read and comprehend product drawings and written work instructions
– ability to use measuring equipment (ruler, calipers, etc.)
– basic computer knowledge and skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:
– experience in a manufacturing environment
– experience in a cleanroom environment
– experience with ERP Systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.)
